How it works
Our free legal workshops are drop-in legal clinics where attorneys help members of the community handle their legal problems. At these workshops, attorneys listens to an individual’s issues and ask questions. Attorneys then give guidance about options, share any risks and map out potential next steps to resolve the issues.
We need attorneys in the following areas of practice:
- Bankruptcy
- Criminal Record Clean-up
- Family Law
- Immigration
- Real Property/Landlord-Tenant
- Wills & Estate Planning
A few notes on our free legal workshops:
- All attendees sign a waiver that clearly confirms that no attorney/client relationship is being formed during the workshop, protecting the attorney and CCCBA from liability.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) volunteers are encouraged to participate.
- Students will have the opportunity to screen the public through an intake process and the opportunity to observe client interview techniques by being paired with an attorney.
