Thank you to Guest Editor Rita Holder for putting together a very timely issue on tax law.

In this issue Ericka L. McKenna and Ryan W. Lockhart wrote an informative article on the Tax Implications of PPP Loans and Forgiveness; Sandeep Singh penned an article on innocent spouse relief; and Christina Weed brings us an article on her important case with the Office of Tax Appeals on “Drop and Swap” 1031 Exchanges.

Travis Neal took a look at the pros and cons of the SECURE Act and J. Virginia Peiser delves into the ways one can access retirement funds in the coronavirus era. Mitchel Winick, President and Dean of Monterey College of Law provides an inside look at the California Supreme Court’s recent decisions on the bar exam.

Rita has been a member of the CCCBA and the Lawyer Referral and Information Service since 2011. She specializes in three practice areas: Wills, Trusts, and Probate; Family Law and Tax Law. Her firm, Rita Holder Law, is located in Concord.

Rita earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from U.C. Berkeley. Her J.D. and LLM in Taxation are from Golden Gate University Law School. She is a frequent author and an active member of the Contra Costa legal community.
