Law firms, solo practitioners and county legal offices compete to raise the most per capita and every dollar counts. Since its inception, county attorneys have donated more than $1.3 million and over 54 tons of food, making CCCBA one of the Food Bank’s largest supporters!
Each year, the drive is launched by a comedy night fondly referred to as Res Ipsa Jokuitur. Well-known comedians such as Will Durst regularly perform to sold-out crowds. Needless to say, this event is one of the highlights of the year.
You can feed a child for $10/week, or $135 for the three months of summer when they do not receive school lunches. $100,000 can feed 740 children all summer, so that is our goal! Help us get there by donating today!
Food from the Bar 2019
The 28th Annual Food From the Bar drive benefitted the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. This amazing organization provides food to over 178,000 people each month in Contra Costa and Solano counties.
The Food Bank also acts as a second responder in times of emergency. Last year’s fires in our neighboring counties put added strain on the Food Bank’s resources and made the Food Bank realize it needs to be prepared for not “if,” but “when” our community needs it. Please join the Food Bank in its efforts to feed all those in need in our community today and tomorrow, because hunger should never be an option.
This year’s drive was launched at CCCBA’s Comedy Night, which was held on Wednesday, May 2, 2019 at Back 40 Texas BBQ in Pleasant Hill. Members bid generously on silent auction and raffle items. Whether you could make it or not, please remember that you can support the Food Bank anytime, by donating food or funds.
