Our Moderate Means Program is designed to benefit the community by offering legal services to those who could not otherwise afford it, while also helping attorneys build their practice and gain practical experience. It helps fill the gap between clients who qualify for legal aid/pro bono legal services and those who can afford an attorney’s regular fees.
How it works for clients
CCCBA pre-screens clients and qualifies them based on the information on their applicaion.
How it works for attorneys
Attorneys who are qualified in one or more of the practice panels agree to offer clients a free initial 30-minute consultation and to accept clients who are able to pay an initial retainer fee of $1,500 and $150/hourly rate. For new attorneys or those interested in adding a new practice area, training programs are offered that will qualify you to join one of the panels. “Scholarships” for on-demand classes through PLI may be available.
Once you’ve completed a training, we ask that you first Join Our Lawyer Referral Service and complete the membership application. To join the Moderate Means Program, indicate it in step 3 and select the appropriate panel(s).
